Bulahdelah

were heading off in a few days for a couple of months on the road from the south coast of nsw,and were thinking about making bulahdela our first stop, we will be pretty tired by the time we reach there. I know there's a couple of good spots there to get our heads down for the night from what I have read .is there anyone had any experience with this site that can let us how what we might expect arriving fairly late in the day mid week as far as finding a spot...

The Cabin and Van Park is good. Very friendly managers. The Showgrounds is open and there is also a free camp just south.

Hi, I stopped there on my way north a month or so ago. I stayed at the free camp (donations appreciated) which I think is run by the Lions Club. You do need to be fully self contained, lots of travellers use this spot which is right by the river. Although the parking spots close to the water are taken earlier in the day, there is usually plenty of room elsewhere. You can walk across the bridge to town where there is a newsagent, grocery, hotel etc. You can check it out on Wikicamps, it's just on the south side of the bridge. Safe travels.......

Cheers,

Annie

P.S. I travelled there from Pheasants Nest which is about and hour or so south of Sydney and arrived at about 12 noon, after a fairly early start.

If you are just stopping overnight why not consider the rest stop at 12 mile

G'day Ron

We have stopped at the Buladelah Lions Park, rest area many times
It is on the south [Sydney] side of the river, with entry about 150m south of the river. Don't get confused by the "No Entry" signs and come in the wrong way
The yellow donations boxes are located around the picnic tables / bbq area

You will find the rest area is about a 5-minute walk from the shops, pub [great meals], and various other services

fwiw- whenever we stop at places like this, we offer a donation of $5pp/pn to say 'thankyou'

Hope this helps
Phil
