Pleased and surprised to have a chance meet-up with Kathy & Dave (Kaid) today at Waverley Creek Rest Area, south of St Lawrence in Queensland. Great to catch up with Kathy again and to meet Dave for the first time. The eagle-eyed Kath spotted me taking some rubbish to a wheelie bin - glad I decided to do it then and not wait till the morning, otherwise we might have been ships passing in the night. Hope you both have a safe trip home.
Cheers Joe

Onya Joe, good spot that Waverley Creek Rest Area. I have met a couple of GN's there myself, 1 planned and 1 not. Spose having DOUGWE on the back of the van is a bit of a givaway :)
Was the Pizza man there? Nice Pizza and I tell you that for free.

Stick Ron-D and a Grey Nomad sticker on the back of your van would help. Any one passing through the Glasshouse Mts can PM me to meet for a coffeee no problems.

Was such a lovely surprise to see Joe. We were just sitting down to dinner and I jumped up from the table.
David wondered what on earth I was doing.
Funny thing was when I saw the bus with the car on the back . The thought crossed my mind that it might be Joe.
Was sooooo surprised and happy to see him. Had a great catch up too.
Joe was heading towards Townsville. We had pulled in from Townsville.
Sorry we didn't get into Yeppoon this time Gayle. Was a rush trip in between Grandparent duties.
By the way Joe. We left at 5.30 am and arrived home at 6pm.
Will be so glad when David finally retires so there will be no more 13 hr days in the car. Hope to see you again soon
Yeah the meeting of other nomads is a big attraction in our line of work looks like a nomad sticker is required ,there's lots of interesting people the playground as our old mate would say,you really strike up a good friendship now and then, its only ships in night so as to speak, but it's good while it lasts, this lifestyles hard to beat ,no wonder there's so many of us on the road ....
Wow Kath, your early exit must have sparked an exodus as I got up at 7:30 and the others that were parked between us had gone as well, along with most of the other rigs that stayed the night. That was a marathon drive, guess retirement for Dave can't come quick enough. In a way I guess I'm fortunate with not having any grandparent duties - I just grab some of my niece's kids (as in my avatar) then hand them back at the end of the day!
Doug: Didn't spot the pizza man, guess I'll just have to come back and catch him next time!
