it may be that you have over filled your holding tank. Happened to us once

Speaking of toilets (Off topic) was looking at new vans the other day and to me it appears that van toilets are very small and I wonder
how a reasonably sized bloke can even manage to fit on one if the need arises.

could be many things - the problem with water leaks. Have you tried removing the cassette and leaving the hatch door open. Make sure the cavity is as dry as you can get it, leave it for a few hours and see if theres any leak.
If its not the toilet plumbing, then put the cassette onto something highish - like a outdoor table or trestles, fill it right up and then leave it for a little while. Then go back and look carefully for where its leaking from. You will need to have the table or whatever pretty level, so the water doesn't leak out and run along the cassette.
But given the leak is fresh water, its more likely the problem is not the cassette.
Is your RV still under warranty, or not more than a couple of years old (you have an implied manufacturers full warranty after 12 months) - then take it up with the Dealer or RV maker

Which will take you to another post within this forum

Hope this info is helpful to you

I had this problem some time ago.

When I flushed the pan, excess water pressure caused it to splash out of the top rim on the other side & onto the floor.

It has been suggested that there is supposed to be a pressure restricting 'straw' placed into the inlet pipe. This is sometimes overlooked by installers.

If that is your problem, a call to Thetford will get a solution.  I find them very helpful.

Overfilling the flush tank can cause leaks as described.

"how a reasonably sized bloke can even manage to fit on one if the need arises" I'm 130kg. No problems. Beats walking to toilets and drop bears...

I think that this one is like mine & doesn't have a flush tank.  The flush water comes direct from the mains or the van's water tanks.

Hello Newcomer. We suffered the same problem. And by suffer I do mean suffer. After posting on here and emailing thetford, the solution was/is or at least appears to be, to not fill the reservoir more than half capacity; and we also replaced the seal on the top of the cassette through which one flushes (and does other things). This appears to have "fixed" our problem on a couple of recent journeys.

Thetford replied to our email that it is recommended the reservoir carry minimum water when travelling. We followed their advice, and all seems good. We surely hope the matter has been addressed.

As a plumber I look at all these types of questions and am surprised at how any one can answer a question of a leak on an unknown model. I would then type the model in and seek the manual to see where the problem might be.

Some have a sliding assembly others have O ring seals. Or do they all just leak and one answer fits all.

Any way clean water does point to a fault in the supply tank connection.smile

check the water hose where it connects to the solonoid and the clip may need tightening
