I posted the following in December 2010 and made the first of 664 blog posts in January 2011 all of which were linked to this forum covering my life as a Grey Nomad.
The blog can be accessed from my signature and has a search box at the top right where specific locations may be located. I am considering a quarterly update when easier internet is available, I am currently camped at Wuruma Dam.
What a great blog - You've certainly been around. Will start to use it as a reference whenever we head off to somewhere new. Currently in Charleville QLD.

John, have not had a chance to read your blog yet, but have just read your "plan". Haven't followed you greatly in the past (but have read some of your tales", as I don't normally check out the Solo site, but here you are now that we have a dedicated blog spot. We have all been on the road for about the same time now, Happy Wanderer, Jules, us (Dunmowin) you (yeoeleven) it was interesting to read your plan, and how it all worked out for you.

Thanks for your comments and to let you know that there has been a huge increase in the number of views to the blog since the first post in this thread.
My last post on the blog was in June earlier this year and now am seeing more views than when I was posting weekly.
Decided against any updates, life is easier without having to record notes and take so many photos then to find internet access, especially now that we are sailing off on the cruise on Monday.

A small update, since the cruise I have spent two weeks at Wuruma Dam after which I checked out Lake Broadwater and Cressbrook Dam followed by Pindari Dam and now have spent two weeks at Lake Coolmunda. So why the interest in camping near the water? I have bought an inflatable Surfsea boat with an outboard motor (4hp Evinrude) and plan to camp at a wier then check out Lake Leslie and Moogerah Dam on the way back to the Gold Coast.
The scooter was sold to make space on the back of the Coaster for the boat, it was inconvenient and heavy having to move it around in the bus. Redclaw was the target in Wuruma and Blueclaw here at Coolmunda, fishing doesn't interest me.. So here I aml at 80 living the Grey Nomadic lifestyle with no forseeable plans to stop, camping with my wife June whenever she decides to join me is always a pleasure. CYA On the road John.
Hey John - are you thinking of camping at Moogerah? The CP is pretty dear - but there is Haig Park - where you can put your boat in, in front of the kiosk - you can get down to the water and put your boat in there. Go in off the Boonah Road at the corner to Moogerah, keep driving and you will se the Haig Park sign. No camping - but there is The Gorge - it is in the camps book.

Just a mini update, after Coolmunda Dam I went to Yarramalong Weir and was able to launch the boat.
Visited The Gorge near Aratula but the river wasn't good for the boat.
Visited some free camps then caught up with Billeee and Jules at Ellenborough near Wauchope. Had a pleasant couple of weeks there. The river is excellent for swimming but alas not for the boat.
Am currently at Copeton Dam Eastern side free camp for a month or so.

I have left Copeton Dam after 5 weeks with excellent company, Billy and Jules, Darrell and Sandra, Rod (Rover) and Mike (ethanol). Lots of fires and Happy Hours as well as using the rubber ducky. The biggest thrill of the time was catching a Murray Cod.
Unfortunately when I returned to the Gold Coast I found that June, my wife, was ill and I had to rush her to Tweed Heads Hospital Emergency and she was admitted. Very weak with too much weight loss and lung problems. The camping has to take a back seat unil she recovers, we had planned attending a CMCA meeting and the Mardigrass followed by the Peace Festival in Palm Beach. We will have to play everything by ear and decide what to do, later.
