dump point hose

Hi all, just a question about my cruiser caravan, I am thinking about buying a rhinoflex sewer hose made by camco in america, and was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with them and whether they fit our dunp point inlets out here, thanks everyone.

I had a look at the hose system on the net.

Seems to be designed for emptying Motorhome black/grey water tanks.

All the caravan toilets that I have encountered use cassettes.

Not sure about the grey water tanks on some of the latest & retro fitted caravans.

Perhaps that is a possible application for this system although it looks rather heavy duty for that.

I have no knowledge of the Motorhome dump point fittings.

ps.  Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the gang Peter, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I just got a grey hose from the big green shed for my grey water tank, works fine too.

By the way, did you happen to work in Local Government many moons back??

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hi,Dougwe, no I didnt work in local government at all over this way, was a train conductor for a few years in the cobram area though. As far as the hose goes I am after one that fits the american cruiser van I have, which the rhino does, but wasnt sure if it would be ok for our dump points...checked out the wodonga point and it looks big enough to accomodate it.Thanks for the welcome and hope to see you on here in the future.

No problem Peter, I worked with someone with the same name in a previous life.

It would have to be a mighty big diameter pipe not to fit as all the dump points I have come across are pretty big.

You might see me around as I pop in here occasionally biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Hello peter Naismith

Welcome to the forum from me also

All the dump points I have seen, are around the same standard size opening of about 100 mm, but for obvious reasons, I have never measured it

If the Wodonga dump point is large enough, then I will assume that all others are also large enough

Perhaps you could ask what the outside diameter of the hose you are going to buy actually is, just to make sure that it will fit

I hope that this info is helpful to you

All the Blue Lid Dumpezy dumpoints are 150mm in Diameter at the top then reduce to 100mm in most instances. I have installed a quite a few of them . Cheers Mick

 Hi Peter,

Bit of a two edged sword these hose system unless your set up is a pump as well.

I mean I have seen dump points in out of the way places designed just for cassettes. They were mounted on a wall and 800 mm off the ground. (Kangaroo Valley NSW). How a hose gravity feed will work on that I don't know.

As far as a hose being good or not, as long as it has the same snap connector as yours, no problem.

Not a lot of glory in the task though as many dump points have at least a 150 mm step.

I once saw a bloke disconnect from his van thinking the job was done. He didn't realise how heavy the remainder of the full pipe was.

Most amusing, but not for the victim. No gloves on and he dropped his end causing a spill......Then he grabbed it and lifted it up to regain control. The thing then came out of the dump point end and spilled every where.

You gotta watch these sneaky hoses mate.smile
