Hi Lance, can't help you with your Millard thing. I see you've had 260 odd views with no response, perhaps if you put your post in "Techies" you may get some response. I'm sure someone amongst us owns a Millard. They've been around for a long time so they must be doing things right.

We bought a new Millard 3 years ago. If you live in Sydney you can see your van being built. The company has been around a long time and they build a good solid van and are happy to build to your specifications.
We had a good experience with them and except for a couple of minor things like a faulty TV and a light in the first month or so there has been no reason to go back.
Unfortunately they no longer deal directly with the public so you need to find a dealer. We had a terrible experience with the dealer in Camden. They were the pits and I recommend you go elsewhere.
They've been around for a long time so they must be doing things right.

No they have not.The name is an old one, it went out of production in the early 90s and the name resurrected this century by another company. Same thing with Franklin, the original company was closed around 1990 by its owner (Tut Bryant.) The name has been resurrected recently by another company.

Would I recommend Millard , yes but we did have some smallish problems and the van had to go back to the factory twice to get the problems rectified but everything was fixed eventually , only two issues outstanding and hopefully they will be fixed on the first service.
The millard mflow is 21 ft, options are ;- continuous Truma water heater, , single beds , extra cupboards, Truma gas heater, Alko ESC anti sway brakes , gray water tank , additional battery / Solar panel And an external annex. It took just over a year to get the van, it seems very strongly built . All the small problems i think was caused by Covid lockdowns , staff off sick , moving factory from Ingleburn and massive backlog of orders and not enough quality assurance checks by supervisors.
The Truma gas heater had to be reinstalled , some slight installation damage that was fixed and the two water tanks moved from in front of the axles to over the axles plus some misalignment of windows And doors . All was fixed. (quality assurance!) We looked at many vans , Jayco, Olympic, Viscount, New Age and others , all were very good but went for Millard as they had the good quality build similar to others and we could modify and added what we wanted easily. Some Van manufacturers would not entertain any changes or additions, net research found next to no issues with the brand plus the price was right which was most important. The Beast has been away for two small trips to iron out any faults and it was confortable.
You MUST do your research on how much the the van you buy weighs and that has to match the car that you have to pull it with. The van came in roughly 400 kgs more with all the options that was installed , i was not happy as that chews the diesel like governments chews up our money.
i would have liked looking at the top of the line off road vans with the great suspension but that would have meant another $40 k .
the dealer and their staff we bought the van from were great as well .
The Millard factory WILL not talk to Millard buyers directly unless there is no other option which i think is very short sighted and if your new
van needs some problem fixed when you on a trip you need Millard approval otherwise the cost of the urgent repairs will not be paid.
