brilliant caravans

Had a couple come into our park yesterday on their way home with a brand new 20' Off Road van

It was a Brilliant van made in Melb . It looked really good inside and underneath

It was high spec'd with dual axles , beefed up suspension and  6" GS Chassis , two spares big off road wheels

CHEQ PLATE  sides front and back and fenders , DO35 hitch , rolled tops inside list goes on .

I checked out their web site , spelling illiterate . Reckon it was done in China . thinking vans made by chinese workers to be so cheap.

Any feedback on these from any owners or anyone that knows an owner

They are so not made in China....how do I know...we saw ours in Melbourne whilst being built and love it and are very happy with it. Yes, the owners are asian (hence the web site) but delightful Mae and her husband are working very hard to make a good life for themselves and child here. Mae apparently worked at Kokoda prior to starting their business and is the person you deal with, he is the builder. They were only building 2 per month and I believe they have recently expanded with a bigger shed so quality control is pretty good and the waiting list is now quiet long. We inspected ours at framing stage and as my husband is a builder as well he was very happy with the way it was being put together. Ours was a standard van (they strengthened various parts of their own accord) as we opted to put on Cruisemaster suspension with a 6 inch chasis, 2 spare wheels etc to make it a very good semi off road van. We have taken it over some pretty bad corrugations for many kms...no damage and almost no dust inside. No it is not a true off road van, they were developing the Cobra when we bought ours, but it goes where we we want to take it. Price wise they were unbeatable for what we ended up with. Yes it was a gamble on a new builder/ van but we would not hesitate to order another with some minor changes cosmetic/appliance changes. Cheers

I have to agree it certainly looked every part as good as the $100k vans

Good to hear that you saw it in the raw so to speak , if they can churn out vans for that price , how much money must the bigger Co be putting on top.

I want to drop around 400 kg off our towing weight and these look like a really good option .

Another thing is that if they keep these prices up it will knock the 2nd hand prices around as well.

The couple that came in had a BT 50 and they had towed it with no WDH they said it towed really well?

Very happy with our 19ft 6 Kng Cobra. We visited Mae twice during build and she was very co-operative. Have recently returned from 2 months in the west and cannot fault the van. Would not hesitate to go to them again. Totally agree with leajoy comments above.

We have had our brilliant cobra van for just over 1 year now. Couldnt be happier with it .had a few minor problems but a phone call to mae and they were fixed asap..the quality and workmanship are top notch.we looked at many off road vans before we brought our van.nothing came close to the quality and price of a brilliant off road van. Highly recommendð

Hi mezza56.. We purchased our King Cobra XL 20'6 Off Road from Bellarine Caravans in Geelong. They are the distributors for these vans. We first saw these vans at caravan shows a few years ago and couldn't believe the price  of such a well built van (compared with JB Vans with the same layout @so many thousands more).  We also have visited the factory and Mai is so helpful with choosing colours etc for the new van. We have only done a few small trips so far, due to work commitments, and find it rides very well without WDH. We have a BT 50 also. We are heading to Alice (hopefully) early Aug. so will give it a good run. Just google Brilliant Caravans and you will see the vans they build. Our Van is actually the van featured on that site as King Cobra XL. Hope this helps .. Cheers.. TrevnGlen smile

People bagging Brilliant vans are ignorant and the ones missing out. We have owned 2 of their vans and love them ...Our current off roader is not Brilliant, it's SENSATIONAL
