Milenco Mirrors vibrating

Milenco Mirrors Vibrating. Does anyone else have this problem? We had the old sort that tie on with straps and it was fine as far as no vibration. We had the chance to purchase the Milenco from friends who upgraded to the Clear View but they are above our budget. But we find they vibrate to the point of annoying. Our vehicle is a BT50 and runs smoothly and both the vehicle mirror and our original towing mirrors did not vibrate but these Milenco do. Any answers to the problem??   Kim

Go back to your old ones.

I just used the rubber clip on straps to mirror.
have for decades. No problems.

G'day gandk

I have been using milencos for the last 5 years or so and find there is very little vibration on my navara. I fit mine as in the attached photo, I found that way suited me better for vision over the top of the mirror.

I think the vibration could well be the vehicle mirror moving with the additional load on it. You may be able to tighten the pivot point where the vehicle mirror attaches to the vehicle.

I have no probs with mine.

I hang them from the top with the long side of the mirror closest to the truck door. (saw one fitted that way in a video)

Can't tighten the pivot bolt on the Patrol mirror so I just fit an 'anti foldback' bungy strap from the mirror arm to the CB radio aerial mount.

Try bringing the mirrors inboard a little as the further out they are the more likely they are to vibrate. By the way Cupie the pivot on a GU patrol mirror can be tightened up.

Mine Vibrate on my Territory just enough to be annoying, I moved them to a bottom fit yesterday and went for a drive they still moved but not as much. I dont know if a Territory morror can be tightened but if not will look at some sort of brace like the Ora mirrors have. I also know from reading other posts on Milenco that not all Territory mirrors vibrate so you can be lucky.

 Thanks for that  ...

Mine is a GQ11 (1995 GY60 TB42E) completely different mirror.

But I'll have a closer look at the potential for tightening. I last looked >10 years ago.

It's unusual for a Patrol of that vintage not to have a tightening adjustment.

Nothing about it in the on line workshop manual.
