New to Site as Member but been in the shadows for some time learning those little tricks
Our Van is near set for travelling with important things like
A fully working Hair Dryer and plenty of space for the makeup.
The less important details are
Have changed the Suspension and brake to a Simplicity axle and large brakes.
The stone guard up front
Solar power on roof
Toilet and shower of course
Washing machine
Full oven
full annexe for long stays
4g wireless system
satellite Tv
Gas bayonets both sides of van
LED Lighting both sides for ease of night camping
Storage tubes under van for fishing lines and drain hoses (separate of course)
Have cameras mounted on back and sides plus at tow point so wife and I don't have the backing in dance that I see about.
The tow bus is a 4.8 lt Patrol with a 1/12 inch lift with truck coils and air bags with 20 psi keeping it all level,
in the back is a
80lt fridge freezer

Solar for fridge
4 batteries on board
On board nav. system is Garmin 7 truck system which shows all low bridges and dead ends we all like.
Has sat phone
Extra boost for iPhone via a external aerial mounted on bulbar
A I pad pro for finding those camp sites mounted for ease of use
And wife to watch her shows as we drive (I have no idea why when the view out the window is better.) But Men understand why I did that.
2 radios mounted into dash so not very easy to get at for when you need to chat with the semis or other vans
I winch mounted to front with large spotlights above to see where you are going, but plan not to drive after 3pm but be prepared for anything they say.
And more stuff, but happy the say all under the weight required till the makeup and clothes etc get in the van.
Good thing is can travel at speed limit of 100km all day without any worries and being into vans since I was 4 so when know to get out of way of
Hi Daveo85,
Welcome to the Forum. Your external antenna on the Bull Bar to increase reception to your iPhone has sparked my interest. Can you give me some more details thanks. Krusty.

Dave, as far as I'm concerned ya got every base covered. Although in saying that there is always the one little thing that will pop up. Best of touring our lovely country. Mike
What have you organised for your lovely wife to watch her shows on??? We are hoping to set off end next year. My priorities for me (I am femaile) that hubby make sure I have beer, internet, and something to watch not sure about satellite tv or foxtel or how it all works.
Ah so will the Foxtel thing you have a decoder?? That is what I like about being home. I have my cold beer, my laptop and my foxtel on the wall. so I wasnt sure about what I would have to do to organise foxtel. Someone said you have to buy a decoder or something,
I was looking at getting my Satellite upgraded for Foxtel and the cost and the parts plus the amount you need to pay to get a little TV. adds is just too much . Plus the extra cables and box needed
So I started to look about for options,
Do you have a good wireless dongle 4G. when travelling
Do you have a good lot of gigs per month that you dont use.
Have you an extra $10 to $35 month or as you need,
We have Telstra TV. On TV in van so all I had to do was add the app. And the join Foxtel play and I have 2 weeks free trial, so we can watch Foxtel TV with ease, very handy when in wet areas or just need to put feet up and watch some football.
So, if you dont wish to get satellite etc. maybe a cheaper option and remember no contracts so you can turn on and off as needed just like Netflix which by the way you can do the same as above if you have Telstra TV.
