We recently had a new fridge fitted. The company who fit the fridge, (a three way fridge) installed it and nothing else. That is too say they had it running on 240 volts only. We assumed that the fridge would run on the house batteries/ solar or gas. We were wrong and lost a whole fridge full of food.
We were further impressed with the time he took to make the repairs. As we came to his premises on a Tuesday he informed us that he was booked out for Wednesday, but by all accounts it would be finished by Thursday. He was true to his word.
Another plus is the price. It was less than half of what we had budgeted to pay.
Its always good to find someone that still provides great service at a reasonable price. Lets hope the iword gets around for this business to reap some rewards from the forum members.
On the other hand it never ceases to amaze me that the other unmentionable business did such a poor job and
Didnt get it right.
And btw.........welcome aboard

Wherever the four winds blow. I'm restless, I'm ready
There should be a "Sticky" on here regarding fridges.
Anybody with Solar. is a LOT better with a Waeco type 12/24/240 fridge.
Smaller sizes cost the same or less than 3 way.
Larger sizes. You can't buy in 3 way I believe.
They are a different class of fridge. Better in ALL respects. In ALL areas of Australia.
I've actually pulled out two "working" 3 ways, and dumped them in trailer, to install the Waeco's.
You can't give them away.
This van. A part timer. Has a Standard 3 way. (It'll be used as daily fridge only, keeping an eye on it.)
But have a Waeco 80ltr dual basket in back of Ute for serious fridge/freezing
When we Do go away.
Van Bought to park in different areas for longer times. Cheap van.
Just towing boat there to use occasionally then back in Park storage till next time.
Then Move it to different areas when wanting a change,
primarily dams for fishing.
Seriously. It's worth installing a coupla panels/and battery.
Just for your fridge requirements. They ARE that much betterer.
If you do go solar.
and rely on a fridge etc.
Just make sure you have a small genny and larger charger (20A up)
to cover the few times you can't get enough sun.
After using a 12/24v Fridge.
You would never go back to the old way outdated 3 ways.
Especially nowadays with so many running solar as standard.
Middle of Simpson. or Tassie winter.
Makes NO difference.
after using a new style, inverter house fridge I would never go back to a waeco style camping fridge either.
If you have the room and want to save a thousand bucks just buy something from Samsung and an inverter
