Late Migration ?

Hi all,

Just woindering how full is Queensland at the moment? smile

After a long time getting ready and a couple of test trips, we are on the road full time now. We are heading from Melbourne, north to some where warm. Thinking of Sth East Qld, or northern NSw. But how full is it up there?

Regards

Tony

Tony,
We are doing the reverse to you.
We are leave Queensland and heading south into NSW and then to South Australia and back to Melbourne for Xmas. But we be back to Qld in January.
However ... yes we can accommodate you up here in Gods Country.
It is beautiful ..... like today and perfect like.... tomorrow will be.

We are little further up Innisfail area just North of Mission Beach. Currently raining and has been for past 2 days with 50+ mls. Prior to that the weather was around 25/26/27 with over nights of 18/19. I have been swimming most days. (lap pool). We have found in the last few weeks that the Victorians are going home and parks are freeing up. Mareeba Rodeo grounds now have plenty of spots at $18- night with power and water.

Check the photo's for the park at Mission Beach 2 weeks back.

Hi tonyac,
Qld has now closed its borders to all of those participating in the Northern Migration 2016.
This is due to the fact that us poor bloody Queenslanders cannot get a space in a Caravan Park or Free Camp.
However the Border Southbound is well and truly open

Don't stop down there it's still classe as down South.

Get up here North of Gladdie.
Where TRUE Queensland starts.

That's wher the NSW/QLD Border should be.
There or Bundy.

Yea Dave.
They've spent their annual allowances.

Kick 'em out again while they stock up finances to give us next yr
again. and again. and again hey. Chuckle.

My missus is an EX one of them Victorians

Gee what happens if the southern Mexicans decide to all head to WA or NT and not QLD in future, I wonder what the cry would be. All that Mexican money not available and then the caravan parks would go broke and they would sell to high rise and then the QLD'ers would not have parks in the off season offering cut rates to get tenants.

Simple mate.

We are the nearest. Cost and weather wise.
Anything above Bundy is fine.
Further up the better.
We'll always get Vict and NSW visitors.
Pity they have to travel on the road surfaces. wearing them out with their volume.

We used to travel from here to Darwin for winter
still near 4000km, but worth it to get out of CQ cold.

People are stupid at times.

All those heading North and staying in Metro areas, Specially Gold/sunshine coasts. Brissie /Cairns/Douglas etc.

Just find a park 20/30/40 clicks out of the area.
Only a half hr drive, or less to wanted area to visit
and a fraction of the price to stay.

Plus.cleaner air. less congestion in parks. nicer friendlier neighbors.
Plus.Plus.

Oh did I say. Cheaper.
we've never stayed in holiday areas.

Thanks all for the replies.

Wasn't thinking about further north than SE QLD / Nth NSW as the temps maybe a too great a shock for our systems, after Melbourne in July/Aug.

Got to get acclimatised first ! biggrin

You might be best to start heading north now cos looking at the weather map down south, all hell is going to break loose soon.

I'm in Townsville enjoying nice warm weather. It will start getting very humid though in about a month so I will make a run for it ???

It should not take too much to get acclimatised if you don't travel too quickly. However you will have to go a fair way north to get nights over 15 deg. It's not too warm at the Sunshine Coast at present.

You can get accommodation if you phone ahead one or two weeks ahead. Come up the inland way through Goondiwindi and up the Leichardt highway to Rockhampton. When you get there decide whether you want to go north or south.
