Hi I haven't stayed there but had a lot at it when visiting Dingo Beach and Cape Gloucester area , It wasn't on the water but not far away and there is a walking track from the caravan park to the water , Around at cape Gloucester you would think you were on a remote tropical Island .
We have not been to the CP but came across by boat from Bowen to Montes Resort that is just around the corner & a stones throw across the channel from Glouchester Is.
What a fantastic part of the world. Just like a Whitsunday Is. as Brickies said.
I'd take a punt & give it a try. I noticed that their add says that it is all bitumen road now. Rough dirt from there to Montes though.
Dingo beach,& hideaway bay &Glouster Passage are very special places, well worth a visit, the park at Hideaway bay is very clean and friendly, I would be inclined to spend a night there , unhook your van and go into Glouster Passage to Monty's Reef Resort, ( there are 2 resorts in there now), in the off season I would not be surprised if they let you take your van in and stay awhile.I used to live there about 20yrs ago and the only way in then was a very robust 4wd or by boat, but it has opened up now and the road in is quite good. it is a very special part of Queensland ,you won't be disappointed.
ps take your fishing gear with you.
regards, Fred.
