Solo Caravanning

A batchelor friend of mine is contemplating purchase of a caravan and travelling Solo.  What advice would you give him?

As Above.
Then GO.........................

He'll probably find a 17-17ft6 van ideal size for one with room to move and store a few things.

Easy to tow with average ute or Falcon type car. Comfy with most Larger AWD/ mid 4WD's.

Coupla water tanks under. Instant HW unit, Hand shower Plus ext tent.
Porta Potti
If second hand I'd buy a new tut if it has one. Yukkkk.

Solar, 200w or coupla smaller ones on roof. regulator inside with a 85 to 110 Battery in fr boot.
Small genny/25a smart Charger for inclement weather..Separate small oven if none in van.
and bedding. plus a coupla bottles of Single Malt.
and awaaaaaay.....

TV with lotsa movies, footie, fishing shows on Hard drive.
and set of headphones so you can play music etc, as loud as you like without annoying others.

I used a small Trolley jack for levelling sideways and up down drawbar.
Supercheap.... Member. $36 today last day for a $100 plus SCA.
and a pr of screw jack axle stands in tray. for working on car etc.

Coupla lengths of 6in sewer pipe capped with inlet elbow to suit sink drain (grey water)
and fits/straps under sink against front/side wall
With outlet going to Valved T Piece for draining or holding for dump.

Oh and find a comfy chair to relax in.
I find the upright canvas "Directors" chairs most comfy long term.

That was my setup for yrs. Very comfy and easy to use.
Compass semi offroad. Pop Top.
behind a Navara Ute.

That was Di's Favourite van.

Go for it. There's a lot to see out there and enjoy.
Oh, and suggest he joins this group himself as there is so much information to read.

He's stayed free thus far. Don't spoil it mate.

Stay away from ball and chain.

Life IS a lot better...

The second you join hands. ALL freedom and individuality is gone.

Breed then break free I reckon.

Example.
Pipelines... Me around 25yrs.
Married. missus 2 kids, another on way.
travelling lines in caravan with Second hand diesel Land Rover.

Mate. same machine/income.
Single.
Diesel Merc. Lived in hotels near sections worked.
NEVER wore a shirt twice. Binned them every night. same with jocks.

THAT's The difference.

Doing it again. i'd be single too.
