Interesting. My favorite if I could afford it would be a Ford Ranger. So that means the others are way above my pay scale.

We love our 2015 colarado. So comfy for us tall people and love the reverse camera ( first time) have not hit anything.

My personal choice (that I bought) was a Ranger XLT Dual-Cab now at $55,590. Looked at the Wildtrack but had trouble justifying the extra money.

Well I suppose the more cash you throw at something ,you will end up with a nicer tug, but I have a humble Mitsubishi challenger that's clocked up 130,000 ks, pulls the van like very nicely and iit's very reliable, all it's ever cost is fuel and basic services , I can afford to buy what I want but to me to spend an absolute fortune on something that depreciates at an incredible rate does not make a lot of sense, unless you have tons of money to burn.

Well.

Jeep is certainly in the right place. should be around 27.

Rangie out of normal range.
Disco good too.

but Land Cruiser 200 first.

In who'se dreams Soggy rolly heaps of sh--.

Earlier PAtrols best on market (Upto 3 ton) along with Troopy.
AS TUGS......
With Disco's a close second.
NO ute should be in that lineup. They 2.5 ton MAX with safety.

Latest Patrol is still better than any Land Cruiser.
reliability and towing wise.

and if you read up in comparo's.
There's very LITTLE difference in consumption. towing or otherwise
with either the Tojo diesel or the Patrol Petrol.
Surprisingly so.

We also have a Mitsubishi Challenger, 168000 km. approx 52000 towing 2.2 tonne. If they still made them the same would buy another one. Looks like it may have to be a Pajero sport next.

6.5litres turboed, intercooled Chevy powered Patrol is fine by me. Not the quickest on the road but the speed is constant. biggrin

Beaut donk mate.
But, unfortunately, still restricted to 3.2 ton.

It's access to larger heavier weight rating vehicles we need access to.
the way people keep getting bigger and bigger vans.

They don't realise that anything over say 19ft inside is wasted.
Just allows more crap to be stored and more fuel used doing so.

 20'6" Kokoda, under the load limit. Not going any bigger, thislldous. Nothing like the sound of a diesel V8 burbling along, music to my deaf ears.aww

My daughters 100 series could pass anything except a fuel pump. Was a rock solid vehicle and surprisingly quite and easy to drive. Had 380,000kms on it when sold. A tad less than her Toyota flatbed that had 1,500,000 kms when retired.

Sure is.
I loved my old Kenny chugging along with 103 ish ton on tyres.
Beautiful sound. As she slurp, slurped the juice. and mate snoring in sleeper behind your head.

The best sounding engines I ever heard though.
Were the old Norwegian Herring boats that came to our fish quay in late '40's to early 60's. (when I was there)
Single cyl 2 str, air pot start Wickman or Hundestadts. 65 to 80 ft timber boats.

The old chuff--------- chuff---------chuff and smoke rings as they started up on a cold morning was magic.
Then chuff chuff chuff getting faster and faster as they went out to sea.
Chuckle. They didn't run at 85deg more like 25. and around 135 rev's, maybe. flat out.

My last van was 19 ft 6 in inside.. More than enough to live in.
This one 18ft 2in OUTside.

 Yeah I don't how about the Pajero sport , it's a personal choice, they seem to have a smaller body than the challenger and an eight speed auto I think ? From what I have read Iam not a fan of eight speed autos for towing?

But it's like a lot of car designs when they first hit the market they can look weird to some people, maybe in time I will get used to the modern stick insect look...
