The price of Diesel has dropped sharply here in Perth over the last week,
Fuel that was selling for $ 129.9 Cpl, a week ago is now down to $112.5 Cpl,
ULP has also done a nose dive, The cheapest selling for 97.5 Cpl, Although it won't last long as "FUEL WATCH" has issued this statement..............
Tomorrow (Tuesday, 2 August 2016), most Puma, BP and Caltex Woolworths sites are hiking their ULP price to 129.9 cpl (a hike of 20 cpl by Puma, and 18 cpl by BP and Caltex Woolworths). Most Coles Express sites are hiking their ULP price to 124.9 cpl, and most Caltex sites to 123.9 cpl.
The weekly fuel price cycle ( starting today ) does not include Diesel, that price could continue to drop, or rise sharply at any time.
Grab it while it's cheap Folks !!!

I got caught recently when I delayed filling up before a day trip to visit friends at the Gold Coast. By the time I got back to Brisbane that evening the prices had jumped similar to what is projected for Perth.
Fortunately I had enough left in the tank to last for several more days, so I ended up paying around $1.10 for ULP.
Well guys, this will make you cry. I am about to leave the US - Texas following a great six week visit. The price of unleaded fuel here is ULP $1.95 per gallon average. Thats around 43 cents per litre. About 24% of all fuel here is also imported. We in Australia do not ask enough questions about the cost we are paying.
cheers,
Robyn

''WOW' 43c p/l..... Any chance of slipping a tanked into your luggage Robyn , ????
Yes I agree, we should be asking a lot more questions about the fuel price here, Pity we don't have a body that will act on our behalf, all that Mob at "Fuel Watch" do, is tell us what we will be paying and only speak up when the price is going up,
How they can justify even existing beats me !!!

I've been paying 119.9 for diesel in Collie WA for past 2 to 3 months. Happy with that as it was up to 1.40 when I moved down here at start of year.
Went up to Perth last weekend and paid 111.9 at Placid Ark Roadhouse (just south of Pinjarra). I usually go up to Perth at least once a month and notice it is often dearer than what I pay in Collie.
the Federal govt charges hefty rates per litre on excise and tax for fuel - which does not excuse the oil companies raising prices when crude oil prices have been dropping for months. The oil companies forward buy (like Quantas and the other airlines) oil and fuels up to 12 months in advance when the crude oil rates are low, but increase the retail rates when crude prices go up.
I think the taxes in the USA are very much lower and they produce much of their fuel now from domestic supplies - which they now have a surplus of due to shale oil.

I usually have a look at "Fuel Watch" before I buy Diesel, just to get an idea where the cheapest fuel is available, but don't usually chase after it to save a few cents,
the price in Perth can vary a lot, depending where you live ,
For example, Fuel Watch lists 3 main areas,
Todays Prices...........
North of the river $ 112.5 - $ 129.9
South of the river $ 123.2 - $ 128.9
and Eastern Hills $ 113.0 - $ 128.9
These prices don't include the 4c p/l shopper docket discount.
I don't think paying extra for Premium Diesel is worth the money, not in my old Banger anyway ( 470.000 km + )
Others may have their own opinion on that.
