Seeing wildflowers in WA

How many days do you intend to spend getting to Perth. If it is going to take several days I suggest you stop off at the Western Flora Caravan Park, located off the Brand Hwy 25k N of Eneabba. Badgers Reports. Alan Tinkler's 4.30pm wild flower walk is worth the price of the stay. You will see a good lot of flowers there.

You will miss a lot of wildflowers if you just drive down the road with a van on. A lot of flowers will be at places you can't stop safely with the van. Just be aware both roads are road train routes so stopping anwhere is high risk.

Ring forward to the small town tourist centres to get up to date info on the flowers. My thought is you could be a bit early.

We had a club run to Eneabba last weekend then we went out through Morowa to Kalanooka springs and camped for 2 nights .You are a bit early but they are sure starting to emerge in a month they will be the best for serveral years.
Depending on how long you have to get to Perth I would go Mullewa,Morawa Perenjori Wubin Perth all bitumen and several camps along the way also brings you out at New Norcia worth a look .This would give you the best of whats out there.
As a side the crops are also the best for several years and the Canola is so vivid that alone is worth the inland road

Usually wild flower season is late August/September and depending on temps and rain, can run longer. We saw many wildflowers inland south of Geraldton in December 2014. Its probably a little early yet - but local tourist centres will give you the good oil

I think it may be too early for the flowers, but last year at this time, there were some great Wreath Flowers out on the Wanarra Road about 2 or 3 ks after you turn off the Great Northern Hwy. There is a dog leg on the Wanarra Road as it skirts around a mine/ This is the road you take to get to Perenjori. But I'd suggest you check with each town's Info Centre - they know where the flowers are out and can save you lots of time.

Thanks for all the replays we only have 3 days so it's basically just driving through the area so hopefully there are a few around
