I may have posted this before, but i can find no answers anywhere on the 4X4 internet.
In FNQ, there is a road called the Dixie Track, 30 or 40 K's south of Coen, on the PDR, that goes all the way to Koolatah, thence the Mitchell River, & on to the BDR just above Dunbar Airport.
Has any one done this road? Is it caravanable?
Yes, i have seen the pics of the Mitchell River crossing, but they are from years ago, & of course, the crossing changes from year to year.
It is the whole track i would like to know about, as it saves going all the way back to Cairns to get to the BDR.
Goes off the Peninsula road just south of Musgrave Roadhouse. Shouldn't think it would be suitable for a van, but you could try phoning Musgrave RH and asking them.
