Well we applied for a postal vote but it never came so had to go into a booth fella at the counter didn't want to know as he would have had to fill in a heap of paper work, listening to Neil Mitchel today ( yeah o know I don't usually listen to him )
It would seam that a hell of a lot of postal votes didn't make to people in time either
Is there conspiracy thing going on

If there wasn't I am sure Neil Mitchell will make one , But we should be careful not to move this post into a political post which is not allowed on the forum .
I dis-agree Jules - Ive bought some very useful tools at Bunnings LOL
I get really peeved at preferences - if you vote for the person or party, that's where the vote should stay - you don't even know who your "favoured" one has preferenced the vote to.

G'day. We have to do it all again in about 6 weeks. Territory Elections. Then again we all may be doing it soon if no one can form a government.
Cheers.

Let me explain to you how it works Bruce. In the House of Representatives, candidates are selected on preferences. You place your first selection and then number all the boxes. You select where the preferences go, not the candidate. In the Senate there is proportional representation. Once again you select first preference and then you choose your following preferences. Once again, you select where the preferences go, not the candidate. That is what the Senate Reform Bill did several months ago.

I don't disagree with you Rocky, but one good thing to come of it all is that the people have chosen who they want to represent them. Just because they don't come from one of the two major parties doesn't mean they won't do a good job. I was totally tired of having local members follow the party line and not the wishes of the electorate.
I am sure if the career politicians in the major parties had listened to the people some of these Star War's Bar characters would not have been voted in.
