Which road is best if towing a camper trailer?

Go down the Oxley Highway through Walcha to Port Macquarie, easy down hill drive with some good free camps but bloody cold.

That's the way I thought thanks NeilandRaine.
We won't be using our campertrailer until we get further North.
We also rely on caravan parks as we are not set up for free camps.

Yes , Pam . That IS the obvious choice . As , other way you have to go Hundreds of "k's" out of your way .

It is a Nice drive , but as you leave the "locality" of Yarrowitch & get right into the forest , it is pretty bendy.

So far with my previous m/h & now my 4X4 , with a 1150kg van , I can go down there comfortable in 3rd gear,

only having to "feather" the brakes occasionally . Another way is via Dorrigo , you Still have , about th same size

range to come down , but less corners , but roadworks from Raleigh to Eungai Rail . If you do the Walcha to

Wauchope , you still have the Pac Hwy upgrade , if you do this way . I Think you take the Freddo exit from the

Kempsey bypass . Putting it simply I would do - Tamworth . Bendemeer . Walcha . Wauchope . Kempsey by-pass.

S/W/Rocks . Plus that way you won't be going on ground you have already been on.

Enjoy ya trip & Have a SAFE one.
