True....physical gold holders will be the real winners......only thing not being printed.....there are however Gold Shares and there are Gold Shares....years ago I purchased $1000 of Australian Intercontinental Gold....they kept promising the world on their various tenements gold discoveries.....just to stay on the Stock Exchange, they kept re-issuing 1 for every 10 shares held...did it a number of times until I only had a few of these 'super' shares left....and then I got a letter stating they were valueless and the Company was going into the Agri Business...I have a distinct feeling the money we all invested just provided sustenance to some 'no hoper' driving an old Valiant Ute round W.A. loaming with gold pans...just to hold investor interest..

Still I had more fun with those shares than I did with putting some of my Super into the old Harris Scarfe's.....invested $20,000 when they were going gangbusters opening up new stores....
if I didn't read the papers to this day I would not know that the Company went 'bum up' soon after and some former Directors started a "good" Harris Scarfe's and every shareholder had done the 'lot'.....still I was ""luckier"" than one lady Investor who had invested something like $150,000 the day before their announcement...she did the lot as well, I believe..no more shares for me...no way....I suspect the World is in for a very bumpy ride....the 'Big End' manipulators might not even be able to continue to manipulate accurately for their own benefits....that's why they are really worried..

I'll stick to my metal detectors and find my own gold....trust everyone but insist on shuffling the cards...Hoo Roo

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't gold shares only worth the paper they are written just like paper money - just a promissory note?

Regards

Gold bullion is the only "real gold" investment.

Gday...

Spot on Helen gold has always been a sensible asset.

However, it is only worth $60,000 if you sell it and then you are back in the same ball park as those who hold cash/property/shares as an asset.

Unfortunately, you can't scrape off a few ounces of your bullion and buy a new car.

Cheers - John

Just buy several smaller packages and sell off as needed.
