You'll be pleased to know the NBN Satellite 25 MBPS service is not usable by us - they will only hook up to fixed premises on their EXISTING PREMISES list.
Funny how the satellite provider (ViaSat) has a retail outfit in the USA (Exede) that give unlimited fast internet for 39$ a month to US customers.
For us, after our taxes pay to support the NBN, (but we can't use it), we are stuck with an old fashioned way overpriced 500kbs satellite service with 10GB
of data for $149 a month.
I have seen various estimates of the number of grey nomads on the road at any one time from 60-100 thousands.
The existing internet services are either slow, non existent and what does exist is high cost ($10 per Gig of data on my plan with OPtus and Telstra is just
as costly).
If we were a noisier minority group being discriminated against in this way we might get some action. But I guess not..
As a full-time traveller I too see no point in the NBN ... or the satellite.
I use a Telstra USB wireless system - costs $59.95/month for 8Gb - been the same price for the past seven years.
I get coverage anywhere there is Telstra mobile coverage .. usually about 95% of everywhere I go ... and usually good speed - well for what I need eg email, internet INCLUDING GN forum
I certainly would not be interested in a satellite coverage at the prices you are forced to endure.

I was using a Telstra usb for ages, was costing 180$ for 14 gb with an expiry time of 12 months, most times I would nearly last the year out. Now I have changed over to a 4GX wifi device that costs $140 for 16 gb with an expiry date of 2 yrs, with a little aerial that I stick on the roof when camping I've always picked up a signal, even when weak. The place that I am farmsitting at the moment has sat internet that costs $40/mth for 50 gb, a bit slow but certainly saves my own data costs, I find the more I look around and search the better deals I get, cheers all.
