After a hard day in the office =3 hours I returned to the van and decided to finally use our Repco ball weight measure on the van. From the factory =199kg Spec = 184kg
So after adding to the rear one sat dish + one Jerry can holder for Diesel (only). empty.
To the front of van, We have subtracked one 24.2kg spare wheel, removed the vans jack + brace to under the bed =5.3kg. Moved the front water tank back one frame = 450mm.=Saving 12- 15kg.
Added one Honda Eu2000 in front boot 23kg. one diesel heater tank. Full 6lt + tank 2kg. 2 x water hoses + some plastic wheel chocs one wire cargo basket 15kg + 4 x U bolts on A frame.
Filled both water tanks. Under bed one Baby Q one Diesel heater, the jack at base end and three, (3) as yet empty storage boxes for cloths / linen. All the Kitchen gear fitted at rear in cupboards. a bit of tinned food in the pantry. the fridge still empty.
The Repco ball weight measure registered first time 280kg I lifted it back up, and lowered it again 260kg third time 270kg.
We've had one for over 3 years, they are quite accurate. They were first released under the TOW-SAFE banner but now seem to be under various labeling. Depending on how full our gas bottles are & how much water is in our tank our ball weight varies between 150-180kg.

I, like you and probably everyone here have had problems with the aluminium tent and tugs various weights but after readjusting things have got it all under, so just travel around enjoying the playground without worrying about it as I don't change what works for me.
It's a major difference what 'stuff' you can have at home and what 'stuff' you can have in the aluminium tent. It's amazing what 'stuff' you don't need out here in the playground Jim.
Just enjoy it all now.

I found mine to be quite accurate, within 10kg. I lower mine onto the scales and give it a bounce or two and the reading comes up about the same. Checked it by driving to the local weighbridge to do a weight with and without the van.
I have one to and as Hewy54 has said, you need to lower it down and then bounce it up and down a few times. I tested mine by doing this 3 times and 3 times I had the same reading. Before the bouncing I had readings that varied a much as 30kg.
