Over the past few months we've camped near Victorian State Game Reserves adjacent to Yambuk (5 nights) on the West coast & Marlay Point (4 nights) on the East coast. It's currently Duck hunting season in Victoria. At both locations we've awoken to shotgun fire at around 4am in the morning. How exactly do the hunters differentiate between the ''game species'' & the ''protected species'' when first light is at 6.30am? Have they got super human eyesight or do they just shoot anything that moves? We'd also like to know why they dump Duck guts & plucked feathers that attract hoards of flies in wheelie bins? So much for all the ''responsible hunting'' jargon!
