Hi all has anyone with a bt50 changed the multimedia for the Polaris system with the 8" screen and if so are you happy with it. I'm thinking of doing it as it has the reversing screen in one and the 4x4 mapping so I haven't got screens all over the windscreen.
I had a Toyota Prius iTech 2006 model. It had the GPS/Rearview camera in the dash.
I got rid of it after four years and went to buy the Camry Hybrid. I was advised quietly by the dealer to go aftermarket with the Polaris. I was told to all intents and purposes it was the same unit without the Toyota badging.
The option on the Toyota original equipment version was $4000 and the Polaris was $2000. They also advised me the Polaris version had the capacity to add two cameras ,one for each side.
I looked at them at the caravan show, thought they were a huge expense. I have a Garmin truckies model, it has a sand bag mount and sits at the windscreen in front of the driver, no vision loss and little eye movement to see the screen when driving. I think it also has the reversing camera as an add on extra.
You were just asking about Bushmaster Caravan, Does the BT50 have the tow capacity for this van. Decide on the van and the tow vehicle before deciding on a reversing camera..... Just our thought.
BTW, we have a in-dash Pioneer multimedia device in our tow vehicle, DVD, Radio, USB, CD, reversing camera (to both tug and tow) , GPS. No need for multi devices.

DUNMOWIN is no longer on the road and still DUNMOWIN!
Yes Dunmowin the BT50 will tow 3.5 quite well as I'm told and the vehicles kerb weight is 2100kg so if I load it to around the 2600-2700kg I can tow around the 3.3T so the vehicle has already been decided and well it does not matter if the van has not been decided to be able to decide on a reversing camera they both don't have anything to do with each other. What I need is a product that will do 3 reversing cameras and also run 4x4 mapping and at the moment I cant run that on the mazda system so then if I buy separate items then I have screens all over the place so I could buy a the mapping for my ipad but i've tried the ipad on the screen and it's big so next would be a product from hema maps but their unit are about $700 and don't run reversing cameras so that would mean two screens on the windscreen so you can see now why I'm thinking the Polaris. Thanks for the feed back
Geoff
The Bushmaster is a 2350kg dry weight for a 18'6" van but can be loaded to 3.5T
