There's a section called Get Togethers Livinthedream.
There could be something there or you can put up where you are going to be at a particular time with a view to others joining you.
I have met heaps of members from here by doing my monthly updates here in "general" which is just about to go to the printers and will be released around end of May. I also usually put a quick post up saying I will be or already at a place without saying the actual spot. If anyone wants to meet up they will PM you then take it from there.
The other thing you can do is PM someone else if you see them posting.
Sometimes I don't say anything though if zi want some "My Time"
By the by, I am in Townsville for winter so if passing this way or anyone else is, send up the smoke signals.

I can see from your avatar you are safety conscious. Be a little bit careful with the info you give out. Use the P.M. system for specifics. Not everyone that reads this site is as safe as the majority of its contributors.
Thanks Happy &Doug ...re reply Doug like to ask are u free camping in Townsville. .. Cheers john
John, No. I set up my van at my daughters place and wouldn't call it free cos I am always on the end of a lawn mower, picking kids up from school and some cooking, I also buy some meals as well, so I spose I pay my way.
There are about 4 or so free camps not far north of Townsville, nothing in, and can be found easily in Wiki or Camps Australia so if you don't have those mate, at least get a copy of Camps, in 8th edition. I use both, firstly check Camps then "zoom in" with Wiki to check reports etc. I am leaning more to Wiki these days though and I tell you that for free.
There is a CVP? also just north of Townsville, around 30km approx. It is the main one I recommend. "Black River Stadium" nice and quiet and going by your previous posts you might like it. A bell rings at 4.00pm and a group happy hour starts up. Great way to meet new people. They are set up for the over 50's and don't allow kids, not that I mind kids. They also lock the front gate from 6.00pm but you can arrange a key if needed. Good place.
I also agree with Friar Park about not too much info on the open forum. That is why I said earlier I don't actually say the exact spot I am at, just a general area.
Don't let things get to you though John, it all works well out here so the most important thing is, just get out here mate, the rest will happen.
