Got this new toy in the mail today. It is so I can use the Baby Q with a gas bottle or quickly change to the bayonet fitting on the van without having to change the hose over. Easy.
Can you tell me why it is needed has the baby q lead just screw into my caravan cylinder .
For my situation I have a bayonet fitting on my van for the bbq when we are away, when home I take the bayonet hose off the BabyQ and fit a standard hose to connect to the 'home' bottle.
With this fitting on the 'home' bottle I no longer have to change hoses.
Also, I have a gas heater (largish) at home that we don't use inside anymore now plan to run it in the patio from the gas bottle. I was going to have a gas line run to the patio terminating in a bayonet but this is a much cheaper option.

You use the bayonet hose direct from van to BBQ, the gas goes through the vans regulator on those bottles. If you want you can take of van, attach the converter and connect to a gas bottle instead and that gas goes through the converters regulator. Only one regulator at a time.
I have a Weber Baby Q that I will use it on when needed but there would be no reason why it wouldn't work on any gas BBQ.
My idea of getting it is so I can have the longer hose on the Q all the time, then I have a choice what to connect to without having to change hose over.
