I would like to know if anyone has seen, or used, a jockey wheel receiver for a caravan dual jockey wheel. They are either made of plastic or rubber and the largest I have seen will suit a 8 - 10 inch jockey wheel. Would this be suitable for a dual wheel?. My dual wheel is 8 inches wide.
Can't answer your question directly, but, usually folks require those rubber/plastic bits because their wheels sink into soft ground/sand etc.
As you cannot use the rolling functions of the wheel once it is sitting in one of those scoops, why not consider an easier solution. Jockey wheels are available without the wheel, with a large flat sole plate (100x200mm / 4"x8").
I haven't used my wheel version jockey wheel for years. With a reversing camera I have no need to push the van around to line up the tow ball etc.
Thanks for your reply, however we need the jockey wheel to maneuver the van into a tight spot at home.

But if you use one of those 'receivers' as you call them, well, you can't manoeuvre the van anywhere. They are designed to stop the wheel in one place.
Unless I am completely misunderstanding what it is you call a receiver. I am assuming you are talking about a "jockey wheel chock". Am I wrong?
A picture of what you were contemplating would have saved a lot of confusion.
You say you want to use a receiver and you also say you wish to move the van on the jockey wheel. These seem mutually exclusive. If the receiver is mainlu to prevent the jockey wheel sinking into the ground then a piece of board is a better option and it is also cheaper.

Thank you for the replies. The chock/cradle/receiver is for the caravan when stationary. The original piece of wood died and I was looking for something that would survive the elements.
I have only seen these rubber/plastic things on the net and wanted to know if they were any good.
When people (sellers) mention the size of 8 - 10 inch jockey wheel, they are usually referring to the diameter and not the width of the wheel
I have not actually seen any jockey wheel receivers, suitable for the double wheel type, jockey wheels, of 8 inch width. This does not mean that they are not out there somewhere
The link below is for two plastic type wheel chocks, as the wheel chocks are suitable for caravan wheels, they should be wide enough for your 8 inch wide, double jockey wheel Further down the same page is a jockey wheel receiver, for a single jockey wheel, which does not look wide enough for a double wheel type, jockey wheel
If you want to have a single piece receiver pay a visit to a fabricator who builds canopies etc. Give him the size for the base and how much angle to bend the ends and ask for a brace to be welded down each side ( take a printout of a plastic receiver with you so they can see what you require). Have it constructed with the checker side facing out and ask his advice for the thickness and give them the weight applied to the jockey wheel. I do not know what the cost would be but it would be a solid lightweight receiver that would not crack or degrade like a plastic one would.
