When things go wrong its usually in 3's

Well left home a few days ago and taking the "scenic" route north into Queensland and have had some mishaps....

1. Got to Kumbia (south of Kingaroy) and as we where about to leave the plastic hatch on the roof broke whilst putting it down.  No probs, I'll just duck-tape it down til I can get a new one.

2. Got to Wooroolin (north of Kingaroy), pulled up, switched off and got the blocks out ready to drive up, go to start the beast and CLICK, CLICK, CLICK..... The Starter motor is stuffed!.  Called RACQ, they came out and confirmed, "Yep, the starter is stuffed". With that the RACQ guy gave me a list of Auto Electricians in Kingaroy but only one does a mobile service and here we have been now for 2 days waiting for the Auto Lecky to come back with a new starter.

3. It's probably going to be the bill from the Auto Lecky, as it took nearly 4 hours to get the starter motor out.

BTW It's bloody Cold here in Wooroolin.

Steve,

Keep the faith mate. You will have good days and bad days. Everyone on this site will tell you that. You WILL have great times in the future I can promise you that.

Fingers crossed that that's your lot for vehicle problems for the next year !!

Thanks all, the new starter motor was fitted this afternoon so we're mobile again ready for the big drive tommorrow... Wooroolin to Murgon!. Can't rush these things. Hopefully the bad luck streak is over.  The upside was the bill, I was expecting a lot more, the boys from Herbons Auto Electrical in Kingaroy did a great job and looked after us. I will post their details in recomendations section next.

Definitely in 3's. eg: Just arrived home from a 5 week trip from our Melbourne home along the Gippsland coast & as far as Eden NSW. Got as far as Yarram & my wife's Nikon SLR camera pooped itself. Our main reason for traveling is nature photography. Bought her a new Nikon in Sale. At Genoa we stayed 3 nights. I left my towing mirrors on after unhitching our caravan. Drove 3kms up the Princes Hwy & got pulled up by the Highway Patrol, $227 fine. We departed Orbost this morning & when we got home realized that we left one of our levelling ramps behind. Bugger. Still smiling because we had a great trip, the weather was beautiful & we got some fantastic photos. Life's great isn't it! laughing.giflaughing.gif
