Ihave a 2016 model 7 seat colarado I'm having trouble when I tow my van at around 95klmh I'm finding that my caravan is starting to sway I have a Hammond Reese to which  just wondering has any one else have this problem or a suggestion on how to fix it.

I suggest you look at how van and car is loaded
I don't usually have problems with my combo (col 7 and 20ft van)
do you use load levellers ??
has the problem just started ??

Welcome to the gang markk, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I don't have the 7 but the 2014 Twin Cab Ute so probably handles differently. I find the best speed is 93kmh, sounds strange but works for me. I would check the overall weight of your van and make sure you are under if possible. Also as 2weis suggested, check the loading of the van. Make sure your 7 is not over weight too.

Hi,

We have nothing in the car other than 2 chairs and the Engel. We have been towing this van with another vehicle and had no problems until we changed over to the Colorado. The van is definitely loaded to the correct weight.

Welcome to the forum Markk

We have a large caravan at 20 foot, one of the things I had fitted at the build was a AL-KO ESC (Electronic Stability Control) stops the sway quick smart. The next clue is you may need to slow down, sway is very dangerous and you may find yourself looking into you kitchen from the side with a mouth full of dirt (I hope never).

We travel around 80 to 90 KMPH, even with ESC the van kicks a bit when a truck overtakes, thank goodness the ESC stops that in its tracks.

Dougwe would expect me to say, jack up you car key and put a ford ranger around it.. (only a joke for his sake).

BTW the HR only level the van to the car, not very effective cutting down sway.

I tow a 21' Jayco with a Navara duel cab. I experienced a bit of sway when large trucks passed. I bought a HR anti-sway bar and attached it to the WDH. This appears to have reduced dramatically the sway to the point where I rarely experience any sway

Mines 21.6 ft I don't need why'd and I don't have esc I just have my brake controller in the front of my console . That way I control the sway my self .eg if the van gives a twitch I just have to dab the brakes myself . Took a bit to get what I wanted the sparky that put the first brake controller in didn't want to do things my way so after I got it home I did it my self.

 This is not a very clear statement. Do you just have a HR tow bar? Do you have a HR Weight Distribution Hitch?or is it a HR Sway Control-Standard Friction Kit?

If you have a WDH (weight distribution hitch,) how have you set it up. If they are badly set up then that may be your problem. Did you measure the height of the front wheel arch of your tug when setting the WDH? If so then what was the measurement before hitching the van and then again after you have tensioned the WDH bars?
