Another recall on the same vehicles is the seat belt bolt on the rear seating needs replacing. Jayco have informed me by letter but if you haven't received one call them. Same chassis numbers as per Johns Post.

So much for following the Australian Wiring rule for mobile structures The separation of water and electrical fittings is a long stand requirement That's what you get when there's no qualified sparky on every J O B to check the monkeys installation process . Not to mention checking the engineering design , IT"S not rocket science .

I'm not going to stick up for Jayco, but am I right in wondering if they are the only RV maker that issues recalls in the proper fashion by posting on the govt recall site and contacting customers??

I have a Supreme and they were aware that their electrical fitout contractor had installed 100s of faulty LED ceiling lights. They didn't do anything about it, but just waited for buyers to complain or make warranty claims when the lights started to fail. It was then left to the customer to fit the new lights (which I have refused to do and their contractor will pick up the sparkies tab for the work).

Likewise Air Command who make the Ibis air con. I have a problem with an Ibis 2 and when I spoke to their helpful warranty person, was told they were having an electrical problem with ALL their Ibis 3 models. But they were going to sit back and wait for customers to complain to the Dealer or RV maker before fixing the problem under warranty

Gday...

A good question Bruce confuse

Perhaps the faulty LEDs and the faulty IBIS air con are just faults .. rather than 'safety issues' .... otherwise dunno. confuse

I think recalls are only required for 'safety' problems rather than just 'faulty items'. hmm

cheers - John

I may be wrong - but shouldn't any electrical issue be a safety issue?

Gday...

Interesting when one applies one's mind to it, Jules confuse

A fault in any item may not cause it to be unsafe in anyway - just that it would not work as it should or at all.

For instance, I may be faulty but does that mean I am a safety issue ..... OOPS HMMMMMMM .. now that I think about it
