Theodore to Eidsvold Road.

Hi All,

Anybody travelled the subject road in recent times? I'll be towing an 18' van.

Just interested in road surface condition and any particularly steep/nasty bits.

Thanks in anticipation

Hurls

As no one has answer you, I will try to give you answer, not a good answer.

It will be a good adventure, taking your time you will enjoy, I don't recall anything to hazardous in the trip, but I was a lot younger, very daring with a semi and on the way to making a living for the week.

Please enjoy the experience.

G'day Hurls,

No problems with that road. We did it about 18 months ago.

Our van is 22 ft. and we didn't have any road problems. A few hills but none to worry you.

There is a free campsite at Cracow too, as well as a damn good pub. biggrin Pub is owned by Fred Brophy. ( Fred runs Australias only travelling boxing tent. )

You can always look at these roads in Google Street View - https://goo.gl/maps/F6DMBnaRdzD2

Thanks for your replies. A bit more research has shown the road is now completely sealed. Cracow Pub looks like an interesting overnighter.

Looks like we will be heading that way late May early June.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Hurls

Just travelled that road and found it in very good condition - bitumen all the way. Possibility of a number of B Doubles especially between Cracow and Theodore but road edges all ok if you have to get off. Probably from some major works by a Gold Mining company north of Cracow.

Welcome to G/N's ELFs, The forum thread you have commented on, is over five years old - It takes a bit of getting used to but I'm sure that you will find many interesting sections of this website to enjoy.
