battery.I wish to instal another exact same battery to help run the Mrs.CPAP machine on 12V.

Can anybody please. advise if the charger is big enough to charge the two batteries or would

I need to upgrade the charger size.

G'day May I suggest that you repost this in Techies Corner. There are big mobs of experience there. I am also interested in the answer as I am in the same boat.
Cheers.

Hi Fitzy,

A quick reply would be that the 20a charger would work but be too slow.

If you used the two batteries down to 50%, as recommended maximum draw, then to charge back the 120amp-Hrs would take 6 hrs at 20 amps. This may be OK on a good day of sun, or long driving. But on a bad day or short drive it would not be enough time to put the charge back.

This is a simplistic answer but will give you some ideas to start.

Unless you add more solar the output won't be anywhere near 20 amps anyway, more like 10, so for your 150w panel it will be fine. I agree though that charging will be slow so an additional panel as well as a second battery would make all the difference. If you go over 300w I'd upgrade the solar controller.
