Hi there dream catcher

I did an organized tour to the tip in 2014
To be frank it would be the last place I would take a caravan. The roads in places were atrocious. Shake the living daylights out of everything. It could become your worst nightmare worrying as to what damage was occurring to your van whilst you were driving along. (especially if you just have a normal van) There are ways to see the Cape that are better in my opinion. Hire an off road camper trailer, Buy a decent tent but leave your van down south. Cheers Daz

Thanks for that info. We are actually hiring a camper trailer and heading up there in May. Will try the ott but we will decide that when we get there. Leaving the caravan on the bitumen

Saw a couple of Trakmasters at Punsand when we were there. We had chosen to leave ours stored at Wonga Beach. Thought it was hard enough negotiating the OTL Track, Vrilya Point track, and road to Chilli Beach with just the 4WD, without the hassle of towing as well. We were glad we had left ot behind, for that reason.

Did the Cape Last year. Saw some Bushtrackers and upmarket camper trailers. We were accompanied by an off road camper trailer, no hassles, but limited their access to places. We left our caravan at Mt Carbine, great spot all you have to do is stay 2 nights one on the way up and one on your return. Cost then was $25 p/ n for power and 2 adults. Left van there for 3 weeks at no cost, lots of vans there and very secure. Beats paying big fees on the coast.
