FLU VACCINATIONS WHILE TRAVELLING

I don't visit this clinic normally so hope you ' Bulk Bill '.

I did a search without luck so,

Where do people go to get a flu shot while travelling. I have just checked a couple of chemists on the nth coast NSW without great success. One told me they won't be available until May this year. Has anyone heard different ?

Looks like I might have to wait until Townsville, mid May. Getting a bit late though I think confuse

Apparently there are two types available this year, one will cover you for three types of flu and the other for four type.

The one for the three has been available for awhile but my GP is not expecting the four types until about the middle of April

I was told the same thing by my doctor only last week as well Clare. We are off next week, so we'll just find a bulk billing GP somewhere in our travels in a few week's time.

Thanks for the painless input everyone.

A big thankyou Kaid, I have booked on-line as you suggested for mid April and all confirmed, cheap too. Getting the 4b. It was a very painless procedure.

Youre all spot on - the current one which is available is known as the Tri-Vacc but is a bit worthless as it is suspected a 4th strain will be more common n Aust this year. Its called the Quad-Vacc and depending on which State and GP you go to, will be available sometime in April or even as late as May.

Most chemists will do it for around $15 - you need to book as most have a registered nurse visit once a week (they are actually employed by a company that does this sort of work) to do the jabs. And as Dougwe says - they do so many, its painless.

If you have had pneumonia, then you are able to get a free vacc shot, which is once every 2 years.

If you suffer a large range of chronic ailments, then your Tri or Quad vacc is free
