Prepare for flooding in parts of the Midwest Gascoyne Region

People in the area bounded by Geraldton, Mullewa and Southern Cross, including the towns of Dongara, Geraldton, Lancelin and Moora, should prepare for possible minor flooding expected over the next 24 to 36 hours.
FLOOD DETAILS: As at 11:10am the Bureau of Meteorology advises there is a Flood Watch for the Central West District
A cloud band is expected to sweep across the central west coast over the weekend with showers and thunderstorms expected in the Central West District.
Daily rainfall totals of 20-70mm are forecast, with isolated heavier falls of up to 100mm possible
Significant river level rises above the minor flood level are possible in the Greenough River, Irwin River, Moore River and Hill River Catchment areas this afternoon and overnight.
Heavy rainfall may lead to localised flash flooding.

As at 2.15pm on 25 March 2016 the Bureau of Meteorology advises there is a risk of severe thunderstorms during Friday afternoon and evening.
At 2pm, satellite and radar imagery showed potentially severe thunderstorms developing inland from the west coast from Mullewa to Jurien Bay and moving slowly to the south-southeast.
