Hi guys ,Ive got another question I would like an opinion on ::::::: Would a skirt between the caravan and the ground stop much wind and the chill factor,we are going on the longest shortcut between Laverton and Ayres Rock in May and was wondering if we should get the wind break
Yes, they do stop a lot of the wind from blowing under the van. I found that our annex was quite wind proof when the skirt was fitted.
They also stop a lot of the creepy crawlies.
The disadvange of them is they take a bit of time and effort to fit. Most people, including myself, tend to leave them off if only staying for a couple of days. Also, if you arrive somewhere late and intend to head off early the following morning then it seems a waste of time putting them on - especially if you stay in the van all night. I imagine that would apply for the trip between Laverton and Uluru.
We've got one which attaches to our van with a dozen press studs & to the ground with 8 tent pegs. It cuts down draft well particularly as our dog sleeps under our awning on a stretcher bed. Not worth setting up for just a day or two unless it's very windy. Any canvas place could make one custom fitted to your van. Together with floor matting it makes things very homely under our awning.
