Well day one is over, we were at the gate waitng to get in at 9am.........the gate keeper slept in and opened it at 10 past. With a few others waiting the mood was positive with lots of banter amongst we early birds.
So we get in, some needed coffee, some needed a loo and others were straight down the drive to checkout caravans. There were plenty to see and most had a good and varying range to offer. There were plenty, all signed well with the features they offer, like bunks or off road. The rest just caravans.....there were plenty of them to....I read somewhere approx 400.
we did not look in all of them ........you could not in one day anyway but we went close to it so we are now exhausted ......just about asleep on our very comfortable lounge chair......... We did only find a couple with comfortable clu lounge set ups...... Most cafe styles leave a lot to be desired of.
As we are in the early stages of planning we had a few vans in mind with Explorex being top of our list as being built here, while supposedly built tough they did not jump out and grab our attention, maybe one day in the future we will approach and discuss what layouts they can offer.......in general their color schemes and layouts on display are just another caravan.
The crusader Manhattan was close to what we are thinking and the price was 10 grand down on the show in Perth last November......gee one can only hope prices drop that much every six months over the next few years when we will buy one.
A couple of others we thought might suit us really lost us when comparing the weights like you all mention on here .......yep you fill up up a water tank ......throw in a can of baked beans and hey presto its over the limit.......
At the end of the day Pauline did decide to ditch the washing machine ........suprisingly enough in discussions with others looking around they also felt the same..........
Crowd was good I think event organisers would have been happy with that.......apartvfrom caravans there was also and abundance of junk from China for you to buy.........and lots of camper trailer options ... And a bit of food for those that love paying through the nose at such events........which is most of us.....only notice one or two took their own.
we reckon it was a great day with plenty to offer and most importantly we got a little bit closer to finding something we like
