I ask you, "What the heck" are Woolworths Caltex playing at, ??????

On different days, this mob are jacking up the price of Diesel Fuel, at different Fuel Stations for one day only,

I have noticed they seem to be rotating the price jump around different outlets in the Metro area, and increasing the price by as much as 10-15 cpl.

the next day the price is down again to be the same as all other stations ,

I can't see how they hope to make a profit by doing this, the only customers they will get on these days , are the ones who didn't notice the price jump and filled their tanks before they realised,

"THEY HAD BEEN RIPPED OFF" ??????

Anyone else noticed this practice ????   confuseconfuseconfuse

Am staying at Jarrahdale and the other day while driving up through Armadale, noticed that all the prices differ considerably.

Doing exactly the same in Bendigo, so obviously an orchestrated move...Woolworths Caltex High Street was 1.21cL Diesel, when Coles outlet virtually next door was 91.5 plus you receive 4c discount =87.5cL...the Woolworths Caltex was absolutely deserted each time I drove by, so I don't think many were being duped/ successfully gouged...the Caltex attendant was soundly asleep at the desk, as ACCC generally is........bizarre greedy, manipulative Corporate behaviour at the expense of the average punter....Australia today.....Hoo Roo

Gday...

yep Larry, I filled up at Bendigo Woolies on Wed last week 91.5c/ltr AND me jerry can

Most others I saw in Bendigo were 99c/ltr or $1.02/ltr hmm

My next fill was Swan Hill Woolies $1.18/ltr ... the rest of the town was between $1.14/ltr to $1.18/ltr.

Back through Bendigo this morning and still the same prices. Each of the three Woolies ones I passed (filled at the Epsom one) were still on 91.5c/ltr.

I wonder what I will find as I head further toward Melbourne.

I've just had a look at todays Diesel prices at Woolworth's In the Metro area of Perth,

They varyfrom the cheapest at 105.7 to 116.9 Cpl

The cheapest fuel available is up in the hills at Chidlow, this is selling for$1.00 p/l

I wish we could get it at some of the Eastern State Prices !!!

Both Woolies and Coles may be playing the manipulative game by forcing those who chase/avail themselves of 4c discount vouchers to maintain a supply of both current......I couldn't use my 4c discount voucher at the Woolies outlet at that high price however I was lucky my wife had a Coles voucher so I used that at the outlet virtually next door.......it's not the be all and end all to obtain the small discounts however why not if you can?.....net 87.5cL Diesel...is great..how long can their 'games' last before they gouge us all big time once again?...no effective watchdog means they can do what they like and when....the respective Motoring Body's could do more than just a bit of lip service/temporary indignation now and again..

Yes I have noticed this practice. Once upon a time these companies set prices which were lower than most, after the 4 cents rebate. Now that they assume that they have the monopoly, in respect that motorist will automatically go to their outlets, thinking that this is the best price, they are in my opinion (and I could be wrong), manipulating the price to catch out the unwary.

To goldfinger, and rockylizard, as well as other members who live in other states

We are fortunate that in the west we have Fuelwatch, which we can use to see the fuel price for that day, from 6 am through to 6 am the next morning, plus after about 3 pm, we can also see the fuel for the following day.

I believe that the answer may be, and I could be wrong, (for all who can afford it), is to fuel up at the smaller service stations, so that the larger corporations, do not get a complete strangle hold on us.

Speedway at Mt Pritchard (Sydney NSW) Diesel price = 94.7/L - I'm sure they're not going broke, So why are any others charging up to $1.29?

Complicated busines........and nobody can provide real answers.........but Perth motorists using diesel have been subsudising petrol motorists for years........ I dont find much point in chasing the cheapest price.......just go the most convenient when I need to fill up, saves a lot of grief.......

But it would be nice to see diesel cheaper than petrol like it should be.........

I am inclined to agree with you Bushpie, I recently filled up my Nissan patrol and after using the shopper docket, I was amazed to see that I had saved a whopping $1.70, that certainly would not have been the case if I had to drive any distance to get the fuel in the first place,

When you look at the prices of fuel in the Metro area and then compare them with country prices, there is very little difference, certainly not worth carrying aload of extra fuel in Jerry cans and adding an extra 20kg weight per can to your load.

I carry two additional 20L Diesel Jerry's as I find small Country Servo's cannot be relied on to be open 'after hours', when you need to cover some distance with certainty...I use them often for that purpose..not to save money...the extra weight I agree is the penalty for my peace of mind...Hoo Roo

You're right there Goldfinger, That's the only time I also carry extra fuel,

And I was very glad that I did on one fishing trip up to Onslow some years back, the only fuel available there cost $2.20p/l,

the next fuel was 150 km away, after tipping all our carried fuel into the Patrol, we made it to Pannawonica with a 1/4 tank left.

Hi, there's an app called Fuel Map that will give you the best prices in Perth When we were there a week ago the prices ranged from 1.02 to 1.21 so the app's worth having . Also allows you to track your consumption
