Thank you where its needed.

2 days ago i was unwell. Sinusitis and head cold.

Went to a dr in town being a visitor here never been before. Explained history of asthma etc..

Doc gave script for antibiotics as appears as infected sinuses

Had script filled advised take immediately after meals.

Its lunch time partner and daughter outside eating lunch already so get quick fresh sandwich made up at bakery.

Eat discuss days plans take pill before leaving for camp.

Within half an hour i am breathless dizzy heart pounding and racing. Feel like i as m having a heart attack. Sit down try to catch my breath relax not panic. Daughter (3.5 yrs old) is concerned but can be distracted.

Convince OH i need help fast eventually he calls 000. He cant remember name of cp or address so gets management

Ambos arrive give treatment initially and take me to hospital for further treatment.

I really appreciate the help i received from other campers. Offers to help OH finish hanging the wet washing. To offers to look after the dog so he could follow behind ambulance

Someone else fed the dog for us as we were a long time.

The manager for her first aid and cool pack to bring my temp down. All the well wishes are appreciated.

Im home now all better.

Was an anaphylaxis reaction to antibiotics i took.

Phew. All's well that ends well then. Most people are despite the popular belief nice and helpful. I'm glad it went well at the end.

nice to hear that your camping neighbours and Park staff helped you all out and the outcome for you was good !

Don't forget to note the name of the antibiotics that apparently caused the grief so you don't end up being prescribed them 2-3 years down the track.

By then its expected that most doctors will be able to access "I Health" so your own GP's records (which will show you have an adverse reaction to certain medications) will be available on-line in real time to any other medical practice

An Easy thing to do when traveling re health.

SHMBO and I both get a print out from our Doc of our health status and medicines.

When I get home I run off a couple of prints thru the scanner and keep them in the van for those occasions you may need them.

I found they were invaluable when we explored WA. for 12 months when wanting scripts renewed. We just took a copy of our printout to the local GP they perused them then gave us the correct scripts.

It also saves you having to remember things when under stress or  unable to pronounce medical jargon correctly.

Almost identical scenario happened to us a few years back while I WA.  Mr D had symptoms of kidney stone, but DR prescribed drug for kidney infection.  within 30 mnutes, he was tingling, itching.  I called GP Hotline who a) arranged for ambulance, and b) suggested an antihistamine. by the time ambo arrived, Mr D was on the floor, but still conscious.  Yes, same details - anaphylaxis shock. Visit to Joondalup Hospital where it was sorted.  We now have a card in Mr D's wallet stating this allergy.

Roll on E Health...
