Because Target is always struggling and KMart does so well, there is a rumour doing the retail trade at the moment that Westfarmers will combine the two in most places, unless a particular Target is doing very well, but they will both be run by one management and support office.

The jungle drums are also getting louder that BigW will be closed down completely (apparently they have already looked at poor performing ones for closure as another option), but that the new MD of Woolworths group will shut Marsters, BigW and open small supermarkets as well as more Dan Murphys (where he was the boss until recently)
