Looks beautiful spot. Will add to our list when we get our new van in April. So excited.

I checked the site out on Google maps, will be easy to find. We will have a look at it in a few weeks time.

It is great to see new free camps near towns. Most councils are stopping these camps due to complaints from caravan park operators .Grey Nomads will spend their money else where.

Small towns like this will be the winners

Thanks for the heads-up Bru. I have noted that one - looks like my sort of camp.

[EDIT: OOPS hmm Rocky should NOT speed-read posts no]

Mostly flat, with 1 large open area. We had been looking at a place further out of town, so this was a good find, walk to shops and pub. Toilet brand new with sink soap dispenser and paper towels.... Ooooohhhh the luxury

Tried out on our way back from South Aust - very nice camp area. Only slight negative was "too much shade" as we couldn't keep the solar panels in the sun. Only one other elderly couple in Coaster motor home and they said didn't mind me turning on generator around dusk to top up batteries. Still in pristine condition - don't let the "Whizzbangers" know where it is.

We stopped to check out this site,  only one level site for a large van and tug, and it was taken so we drove on.  Better sites down stream.

Tonight we are at Horseshoe Bend  Camps 8 Victoria site #267.
