Some more Aldi specials - a couple of unusual items that may be of interest to caravaners:
9th March = Several trail bikes and bicycle items like clothing and tools.
12th March = tent, air mattresses, camping lanterns, sleeping bags, pack of tent pegs, camp chairs, tarpaulins, hammock, fishing rods, winter jackets, small camping stools, solar panels, cook wear, folding shovel, water carrier, camping kettle. Also one of those thermal slow cooker sets for $99.99 - this one has a 12V booster.
Something I haven't seen before - what are called 'Onezee Sleeping Bags' these make the wearer look like the abominable snowman! In three sizes and it appears to be also in three ranges +7.8; +3.3; and -11.3-degrees. They cost $69.99 each.
There are also several 'biggies!"
The 40 litre fridge/freezer is on again - $499. I know that a few people missed out on these last time. They also have a 3500W generator for $399.
And three more items that may be of interest: a night vision device (a monocular - ie half of binoculars) to me) for $169; laser range finder $149 - great for golf; spotting telescope 20 to 60 times magnification $49.99; and lastly a HD wildlife camera for $129 - I immediately think that could be hidden and double as a security camera.
By the way, do any of those that bought the fridge/freezer have a comment about them - good or bad?

Gidday Murray, Yep I got the Fridge last time, ! Our store had only 10 units, I got to the store an hour and quarter early, and just managed to get unit number 8, so you need to be early !! Have used it 3 times, and I am wrapped, performs very well, I did break the DC adaptor the day before I took it away the first time, Aldi said no problem they would send me another out in the post,, But Ineed one straight away so popped into Jaycar, asked them if they had any, !! he took one look at it and said yep !! it's a ''Waeco'' !! I said no, it's a ''Sterling I got it from Aldi, !! his reply was --- Yep, it's a Waeco !! thats where the get em !!
So hope this assists, I am happy it has performed well as both a freezer once, and a fridge twice !!
Don't know about other places but here in Canberra there are quite a few Aldi stores. I have found that if one sells out then a trip to another nearby one often still has the specials. Mind you, popular items go pretty quick every where.
Well, at 8:20am this morning I was outside our local Aldi store along with about two hundred others. Most kept reasonably well back from the door except for one man who had his nose almost on the roller door. When it started to go up at 8:30 he dived under the door when it was only about a metre from the floor! I wonder what he was wanting to buy?
Anyway, as near as I could tell our store had only five fridges - I picked up the last one off the floor; I saw one man with two in his trolley; the man behind me at the checkout had one and another man had one in his trolley buried under the weekend groceries. The man behind me told me that the person with two was buying one for his brother as well.
The generators seemed to be selling well - I spotted two going out the door. One man brought along a hand trolley to pick up his.
For those that missed out Aldi generally bring back the specials every few months so it is a matter of keeping your eyes open.
Murray
PS: Our local store still had a number of the step ladders. Worth having, either for the van or house. They are light and strong.
