Hi Geoff, no problem whale watching at "Head of the bight ". There's a good car park with lots of room for caravans, there is a small entry fee well worth it.

We have taken 6 weeks from Norseman to Ceduna. Running low on water so had to get moving. We stopped at a a number af water holes along the way trying to photograph birds (wife's instructions) There is plenty to see if you want to spend the time.

To the best of my knowledge, Ceduna is the last place to stock up with potable water, until you reach Norseman. The tap is situated at the last servo on your left, near the RV dump point. The are some rain water tanks on the Eyre Hwy when crossing the Nullarbor, but seasoned travellers had advised me not to rely on that water being fit for drinking. There will be no potable water available at the servos on the Nullarbor. I have no idea what the water is like at the caravan parks, as I have never stayed at them. The potable water at Norseman is at the Information centre. I do not have a vehicle to go off road, so I do not know of the waterholes, which woolman, refers to. I am sure that others will give more details than me, as I have only ever made 8 crossings in 51 years, but with the last 3 crossings in the last 2 years.

You can camp at the Head of Bight outside the entrance gate. No facilities and VERY tidy. Great boardwalk along the cliff to watch the whales from, plus toilets, cafe. Water at the CP in Eucla. The Nullabor is a breeze - lots of fuel, road houses etc. Free camps, some dump points and toilets. Just remember it is a long way from anywhere and you do pay a bit more than normal but these places are proving a service so you can cross in comfort so I dont have a problem paying. Just stock up on drinking water before you leave.
