we are planning our trip to the top of WA this year with our caravan and our tent . Plan is to store the van for 2-3 weeks and do most of the GRR . Trying to decide what to take for the camping trip. We have a small tent for two and wondering if it is worth putting in our shower tent which we could use for a shower /toilet or storage at times. Do most of the camp sites have toilets and showers close to where you camp as we often need to get up at night and don't want to have to wander too far in the dark. We often camp but it's usually for days so take the shower tent but wondering if it is overkill for this trip.

Have a look at Wiki Camps App or Camps 8 book, All the camp sites and what facilities are available are shown. Wiki camps has recent comments available as well.
Hi!
i would take it, won't take up much room but would give you convenience, most of the camp sites do not have power on at night as they have to produce their own power.

You need to be aware that there are no free campsites along the GRR. The road cuts through station country and free camping is illegal.
There are DPaW campsites at Windjana, Bells and a few other places and commercial sites on some of the stations including Charnley River, Mt Elizabeth and El Questro.
All, as far as I am aware, have shower facilities.
Not to mention .......manning gorge via Mt Barnett Roadhouse.....showers and toilets at the campsite......but after a swim in the wonderful pool in river who needs the shower..... Its worth a few days there just to chill out.
