If it is a portable unit such as Engel it will self select 240 if available. If its a caravan fixed type of fridge & You select the wrong voltage the only problem SHOULD be that it wont work until the correct voltage is selected.
AC 240 has 3 pin plug / 12v gas two wires and may have cigaret lighter plug .. If there's an AC switch ? Make sure it's on 240v. NOT 110v .. 12v is to run off solar or battery . Which imp is better than runing through an inverter ..
