Years ago with my old caravan my 3 way fridge stopped working. I was told by a fridge mechanic to take the fridge out and turn the fridge over a few times then stand it up. By mixing the gases that had laid dormant for a while it stirred it all up and then miraculously it worked! A mate's Engel portable fridge was running but was not getting cold at all. He remembered what I said about my old caravan fridge so tried the same. Yes... again it worked. If you are having trouble with either style of fridge before you spend a fortune having them serviced or replacing them try this method. It could save you a few dollars.
I thought that only worked on absorption type fridges but if it works on an Engel possibly it would on all types....worth a try at least. Good tip Rod.
Was for absorption type and that was to stand upside down for a few hours and then stand upright for the same.if you do that with a compressor type you risk the oil coming out into the pipework and if enough time is not allowed for the oil to return to the sump of the motor before it is switched on the oil will be pumped up higher then it Will be blocked.
