Hi,

We stayed at big 4 Melbourne day after Boxing Day for 2 days & it is a fantastic park, it's clean, although some sites did appear a bit tight ? We had Ensuite site first night & had to change to another powered site second night it was no problem. We got a taxi into MCG & it cost around $30 which was money well spent, apparently trains or trams are nearby to park ?? The staff were helpful, Woollies is fairly close for any necessities, overall I can recommend it to anyone, we will be back there hopefully sometime this year.

The park is good , a lot of the sites are a bit tight to get into but the staff are very helpful. We usually drive to the tram , park the car and go into the city that way, so easy. You use a Miky card for travel in Melb and the park will often have one you can borrow for your stay and then return it . The flower show is wonderful , is a full day activity as there is so much to see. You can pre purchase tix if you know the day you want to go. Have fun

We stayed there for a couple of nights while our van was being fixed under warranty - most manufacturers recommend this CP as its the only one near to the caravan building strip.

Staff were very helpful and amenities cant be faulted, but the sites are hanky sized (we booked and told them we had a 24 ft van - not so - but we couldn't put our awning out as we were so close to vans on either size. We had to hook up our power and water before we backed up almost into the retaining wall behind us and there was no room to park our van. We ended up just parking it on an empty site and telling the office what we had done. The lane ways are extremely narrow, so take it easy with the backing - you run the risk of hitting one of the vans on either side of your site or the cabins on the other side. It seems to be usual that one of the office staff show you the way to your site on a golf buggy and attempt to help you get into your site. Our lady was very nice, but hopeless with the backing. We got immediate help from one of the maintenance men who helped me get on to the site straight away.

Lower down where they have a second toilet block and kitchen, the sites are much bigger and don't cause problems. The driveways are tight though and one corner that pretty much everyone has to go round is known to staff as "Supreme corner". Its fenced and a Supreme van owner didn't make the turn and ripped down the fence and badly damaged his van.

So accept all the help they offer, don't feel foolish by stopping and getting out frequently to see how youre going with getting around corners or reversing and give your wife a Valium if shes helping you reverse (you have a strong whiskey afterwards).

We had a storm come through one night we were there and the wind blew hard up the valley its in, so we were glad we couldn't put our awning out. The high tension power lines that run across the park grounds also crackled loudly all night.

Otherwise, you have little choice put to stay here and other than what Ive outlined above, its a very clean and well maintained place with helpful staff. Buses run from almost outside to the train stations which will get you to the Flower show. Woolies is big and theres plenty of trendy cafes and good coffee around (its a yuppie area)
