What's this on the back

Hi

Just wondering if anyone can let me know what this aluminium thing is on the back of this van?

Seen a few, curious as to what they are.

Sure is one elaborate setup for a bike carrier....as long as it does the job all is good.

Works well - bikes never move - oh they do if you take them off!

Seen lots of rusted up bikes strapped to the back of caravans, a lot with substantially overweight owners. Good intentions but never used, obviously the local Bakery was a lot more alluring than pedaling around.

The image shows a Fiamma bike rack to suit two bikes. There are two arms on the top cross beam , one short one longer to hold the top section of each bike. The two wheels of each bike are secured into a channel section by a ratchet locking strap. When not used the two wheel channels fold up against the vertical posts. I have one fitted to my Auto-trail MH and it is a very efficient Italian design. Hope this helps,

cheers,

Gary C

I thought it was for an internal wash-out - it does say "comfort follows you everywhere" LOL
