Safety !!!

I thought i have seen a lot of strange things over the years but yesterday i think just about topped every thing else,

While driving along the freeway at ballarat 110ks either side i saw a motor-home pulled up in the center reserve beside some bushes all the doors open at the front, and a guy emptying

his cassette from the toilet under a bush !!!

Nice day for a stroll along the center off a freeway !! hmm

Pomme.

Who knows maybe the cassette was full and someone had to GO in a hurry?
If that was the case it reinforces that one should be thinking ahead you never know
Disgusting really

Carry a spare cassette for just that eventuality.
It also allows me to pop in a fresh one while I go and empty the other one just in case someone has to go in a hurry because I usually do the "chore" very early in the morning, and the person that has to go may not be awake enough to notice the cassette is missing.

There can be no acceptable reason for this type of behavior, he was lucky I didn't see him or his rego number would have been recorded and reported to appropriate authorities.

Although I am not endorsing this persons actions, as far as I am aware there is no public dump point in the Ballarat area. Ballarat Council needs to lift their game.

I drove past the Ballarat freecamp this morning and the only visible campers were in a wizzbang and a sedan. I wonder what their toilet facilities were.

Also yesterday, I woke up to the view of a car, complete with tent erected, in the middle of a park in suburban Ballarat. Less than 2kms from CBD. The couple responsible were definitely not backpackers and judging by their car, definitely not poor.

Seems the standards are slipping in Ballarat. The freecamp is already under threat of closure due to misuse. Actions like these will not help the cause to keep it open.

The Motor Homers are the ones who keep rattling on about self contained and Leave No Trace, (CMCA) so maybe that one wasn't a member, or never read the book....or you leave no trace at the camp site and dump wherever you like afterwards.
However, the afore mentioned group have done a great service to the nation with their dump point program, so maybe this guy was just a dummy with a full dunny.

The Australia Road Rules (ARR) apply to both roads and road related areas.

The ARR dictionary defines a dividing strip:

dividing strip means an area or structure that divides a road lengthways

In addition, a dividing strip, nature strip, bicycle path, footpath or shared path are all defined as parts of a road related area

So this person effectively dumped their sewerage on the road and that Mr Plod is against the law.

Disgusting, unless this happened due to a medical problem, then this sort of person should be named and shamed
