An Organised Family

Gday...

This big rig pulled into my camp yesterday - very impressive.

They are a young family - father, mother and two young kids - originally from central NSW Coast and have been travelling full-time for past four months.

They are looking at SA and VIC before heading up to the Arnhem Land NT for some work he has to do in a couple of months. He is an Electrical Contractor and does contract work. He intends to chase work and enjoy the country while doing so.

The truck not only has the boat and dual-cab 4x4 but also a Dingo Digger, with attachments.

There are 400Watts of solar on the roof of the truck feeding a 4000W inverter, combined with 200Watts solar on the roof of the van feeding the 12v requirements.

They are schooling the two young girls on the road, and they have already noticed how the girls are learning more quickly and enjoy their school work more than when they were 'stuck in school'.

A very impressive rig and a friendly, and impressive, family. OH to be young again

Cheers - John

That seems to be the case with kids on the road with mum and dad Rocky. I have come across a couple of families like that and speaking with the kids, they are very knowledgeable even at a young age. Seems to be a regular occurrence now. Always nice to speak to these families.

Met quite a few families on the road - there was one lot at Greens one time - mum, dad and five kids - ages 2,4,6,8 & 10!!! Better behaved children you wouldn't meet, they came to the campfire, bearing marshmallows and sticks for everyone - they are a credit to good parenting, as it is with most of the children we meet on the road, travelling long term, not on holiday!

has anyone seen the family with a new blue double decker bus which appears to have been custom built for Mum, Dad, 3 kids and an Asian nanny? The upstairs front end is a play room with large screen TV and Xbox etc. He tows a double full length trailer with a 20 ft tinnie and decent sized outboard on Level 1 and a Hilux 4 door ute below. Attached to the trailer is a BBQ big enough to cook a whole sheep on a spit.

They are full time nomads and the nanny and mother look after and school the kids (who not only have bikes, but go karts!!!!!

Saw them in a CP at Mildura about 10 mnths ago and they were heading north east
